A warm welcome to KIDS Kindergarten!

The kindergarten was founded in 1993 by a parent-led initiative. The founding parents were looking for an opportunity to promote an Anglo-German cultural and linguistic exchange. They set up an association known as the ''Kinder-Initiative für Deutsch-Englische Sprache e.V.'' - hence the name KIDS.

With places for 20 children, KIDS aims to provide a rounded bi-lingual education for 3 to 6-year-olds in a happy and stimulating environment between 8:00am and 3:00pm Monday to Friday. The educational concept applied at KIDS combines the best elements of the German and Anglo-Saxon models and weaves these into a unique multicultural environment that is enjoyed by a balanced mixture of children from different cultural, linguistic and social backgrounds.

Our four teachers provide an excellent ratio of one teacher to six children. Two of the teachers work full-time, two part-time. They are supported by an intern (Praktikantin).

KIDS is situated in a quiet lane at the top of Frankfurt's largest green space, Grüneburgpark, in the heart of Frankfurt city.

Frequently asked questions

Are there any vacancies at KIDS?
All spots have been filled for the 2013/2014 school year.

How many spaces are available each year?
We are a small kindergarten of 20 children and we have approximately 5 to 7 spots available each July/August.

How are children chosen for a spot in KIDS?
Siblings are awarded preference. We maintain a ratio of German/Bilingual/English speakers, an even number of boys and girls and balanced size peer groups. Parent participation is also a requirement. This is the criteria with which we choose candidates to interview/accept.

Can I e-mail you to inquire about our application?
Yes of course, however we will notify families on our application list who meet our criteria when we have an available spot that matches them.
